CREATIVE DANCE (45 min. Monday, 4-1/2-years and up)
Designed for young children, the emphasis is on concepts of rhythm, body awareness, creative movement, and the joy of dance. Creative Dance dancers will dance with mom or dad the last 15 minutes of class.
BEGINNING / JUNIOR CONTEMPORARY DANCE
(50 min. Thursday, 7-years and up) (Pre-Ballet)
Concept of rhythm, body alignment and space awareness. Creative movement through locomotor skills, developing self-expression and confidence. Preparation for ballet training. (Little showtime at the last 5 minutes for parents.)
JR. / INT. CONTEMPORARY DANCE *
(80 min. Tuesday, 10-years and up)
Emphasis on body alignment, rhythm, space, and creative movement; developing strength, flexibility, and confidence.
JUNIOR / INTERMEDIATE BALLET *
(80 min. Wednesday, 10-years and up)
Based on Vaganova method. More demanding work for ballet foundation.
INTERMEDIATE BALLET **
(85 min. Friday, 12-years and up)
Based on Vaganova method. Coordination for arms and legs is emphasized, both at the barre and center work.
INTERMEDIATE / ADVANCED BALLET ***
(90 min. Monday & Wednesday, 12-years and up)
Based on Vaganova method. Advanced technical training with longer combinations for intensive ballet.
BALLET POINTE WORK ***
(30 min. Wednesday & Friday, 13-years and up)
Student must be approved by instructor. Three ballet classes per week required. First two weeks include foot strengthening exercises.
INTERMEDIATE / ADVANCED CONTEMPORARY DANCE **
(90 min. Tuesday & Thursday, 13-years and up)
Based on José Limon and Merce Cunningham training - more intensive technical movement and longer composition.
ADULT BEGINNING CONTEMPORARY DANCE
Tuesday / Thursday 12 - 1pm. 3-season workshop. Emphasis on body alignment and body awareness. Gentle warm-up and stretching / body condition exercise and fun dance phrases. Develop strength, flexability and confidence.
We will practice one or two dance pieces during Fall / Winter Workshop. Spring Workshops will be only open for dance friends who are ready to join our annual dance performance on June 1, 2024.
Leggings / T-shirt or leotard / bare feet or cotton socks.
Registratioin due the week before each workshop or one day before for single class.
